travel: Macau, in black & white

A photo series of a day trip to Macau.

Living in Hong Kong means that it is extraordinarily easy to get across to Macau. A ferry trip takes only one hour, and affordable tickets can be bought 10 minutes before boarding, making for a stress-free last minute trip (as long as you remember your passport). Although I love living on this side of the world, I really do miss Europe and the beautiful city breaks that can be had there. Macau is like Asia's answer to a European town. When you escape from the loud, glittering extravagance of the casinos and grand hotels, Macau offers a very walkable old town. With architecture and local delicacies heavily influenced by Portuguese colonisation, the old town of Macau is a Eurasian mash up and exactly what I needed after eight months abroad.
